The widely popular Mandelbrot and accompanying Julia sets

The Fractal Rabbit Mandelbrot Wing of the Savage Rabbit Art Gallery proudly presents these creations by Savage Rabbit Artist and SCO employee Ronald Joe Record. These fantastic creations of Mr. Record's represent the complex dynamics of the iterated complex map z->z^2 + c. First popularized by Benoit Mandelbrot, these figures are now on nearly every computer on the planet.

Colors generally represent the behaviour of the map ranging from stable periodic or fixed orbits to chaotic or "strange" attractors. In the Mandelbrot sets, the color figure graphically divides parameter space into stable and chaotic regions. In the Julia sets, the color figure graphically divides the domain of the map into the two basins of attraction.
