a heart is reflected on the wind
in the arbors of silence
a rose of flesh leans upon the sky
a fine ash settles on the skin

what does the sea throw up
what rots upon the mottled shore
near the arbors of silence
what is wounded evermore

through the arbors of silence
the willow weeps for reaching out
the unbroken mirror reflecting past
the moon that's etched upon our fast

and it always rains
and there's never any chance
and love lays down

in the arbors of silence
